Protect Our Winters presents Callan Chythlook-Sifsof for a conversation about climate change issues and actions in Alaska during Lunch & Learn Wednesday, Feb. 24 from Noon - 1 p.m.
Callan is a Yupik/Inupiaq professional snowboarder born and raised in Bristol Bay and a longtime member of POW's Athlete Alliance.
She won her first VISA U.S. Snowboardcross Championship in 2007 and went on to take the bronze in the first World Cup of her career the same year. In 2010, she became the first-ever native Alaskan to join Team USA Olympic Snowboard team.
When not shredding the slopes, Callan is a passionate advocate for taking action on climate change including recently testifying in front of Congress in support of protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
